What is it about museums and theme parks that makes them so engaging for guests? How do they create memorable experiences that make you part of the story being told? In this session, we’ll break out of the mold of traditional classroom curriculum units and share the nuts and bolts of getting started with immersive learning experiences in the classroom. We’ll show examples of immersive experiences in informal organizations, discuss what makes a lesson or unit immersive, experience digital and in-person immersive learning environments, do some hands-on field work and learning activities without leaving the classroom, and share some budget-friendly ideas to create new environments and activities in your own classroom.
